Our Mission
The mission of the Moving Mountains Foundation, Ltd. (The Foundation, or MMF) is to engage the mountain community in activities and events designed to raise awareness and funds to reduce the burden or degenerative neurological disorders. Specifically, The Foundation develops sustainable events and programs within the mountain community and recruits talented volunteers who can replicate these events and programs throughout the United States. These events and programs are designed to:
- Raise awareness of the devastating impact Parkinson’s Disease has on individuals and industrialized society
- Raise research funds that can be used to discover the cause of and cure for Parkinson’s Disease
- Foster communication between people with Parkinson’s (PWPs) and their caregivers
- Develop synergies between Parkinson’s and other Neurological disorder organizations.
Our Actions
The Foundation focuses energy on the people, places, athletics and programs that are unique to the mountain community. The Foundation sponsors the annual Moving Mountains for Parkinson's Vertical Challenge each winter at the beautiful Sugarbush resort in the heart of the Green Mountains in Warren, Vermont.
